Biography
From her studio in White Rock, BC. Ciel Ellis is inspired by the flowers found in the west coast gardens around her. Continually amazed by the variety of colours, shapes, and spirit of these delicious flowers she craves to capture them in oil paint.
In the spring, she can be found with her camera slung around her neck walking the local neighbourhoods capturing the beautiful flowers. Often becoming teary eyed when their beauty moves her. After hundreds of photographs, she sits down to select the few that will make their way into her unique oil paintings.

While having painted throughout her life, she spent a number of years as a life-coach helping others find a life they loved. Feb 2019 found her wanting the same for herself. Focusing full time on her art was what she was drawn to do. By October 2019 she was ready for her first solo show.
In April 2022 (21)jurors met to review her work and decided to award her the prestigious distinction
of Senior Signature Member with the Federation of Canadian Artists. At the time there were only 105 SFCA Members within the 3000 members across Canada, which included the great Robert Bateman, Charlie Easton, Gerry Thompson and others.
Love and beauty are at the core of why she creates. Having spent a good part of her life healing from trauma and loss, feeling love became the way finder for how she was going to live. Seeking out those experiences that had her feel alive and well. In the presence of flowers her emotions flow spontaneously. Knowing that others are also trying to find their way, it is her hope that her flowers inspire the love and beauty she felt when she painted them.
