Lemony scented goodness.

This gorgeous Golden celebration Rose from David Austen has been such an amazing pleasure for me.  The smell is amazing, but beyond that the golden yellow colour is so luscious. 

Welcome to Sunlit Gold.

A beginner's foray into painting beautiful flowers.  I will help you with the start, middle and ending of this beautiful painting. 

What's included:

  • A canvas with this image outline already printed on it.
  • Canvas size is 11 x 14 with 2" of border all the way around for future framing/mounting. 
  • 8 weeks of online, in person instruction.
  • Support for mindset and technical challenges.
  • A private Facebook group so we can share our work and talk through our progress. 

What you'll need:

  • A selection of oil paints. (I'll provide a full supply list.)
  • Brushes.
  • a palette to put your paint on - a glass pie plate or cutting board works well.
  • a palette knife.
  • Paper towels.
  • You'll need an internet connection and have the Zoom app downloaded.

What you'll learn:

  • How to extract the information from the reference photo that you need to understand the image,
  • How to mix paints to reflect what you see,
  • How to apply marks and blend paints in order to achieve the affect you desire,
  • How to care for your brushes,
  • How to play, make mistakes, adjust as you go... drop the perfectionism that often pervades creative pursuits.

  • If someone along the way made some critical comment about your creativity.
  • If you are looking to learn something new and have some fun.
  • If you are not sure you can do this.... then this is definitely for you.

How long is the course?

Great question.  I've allowed 8 weeks of training for this course, and here is the good news, you can work at your own pace.  Once you are a paid student you will have access to this course for a year.  Sounds good, right?
