Let me how you where I first met these gorgeous flowers.
When I first met these blooms, it was a strange encounter because from the pathway I couldn’t see them, but I felt drawn to move into the park. I didn’t know why, but I was curious to find out. I just knew there was something here for me. I trusted that there was a gift waiting for me. Like a scavenger hunt. My heart quickened and a smile came easily over my face. I knew something amazing was going to happen.
My knowledge that in the presence of beauty we feel more alive was about to be confirmed. This awakening is the golden moment. You feel a sense of self, and it feels good.
There was a transformation from the unconscious to the conscious. That magical sense of self that washes over you when you feel really alive.
I met these gorgeous tulips in their prime. They are gone now, however they are imprinted on me. This is the gift of presence. Memories. Emotions that we can draw on every time we need to.
Sometimes magnificence, excellence is hidden in plain sight. Tulips were once the most expensive flower in the world. Now we find them in our local parks. The exotic and rare being seen as commonplace. Their beauty hasn’t changed it’s only our diminishment of them, common being less important than exotic. They are still exotic if we remove the common mindset. This is the same complacency that has us ignoring significant moments. We think they are common occurrences when they are actually exotic moments that if we stop to feel them will be with us forever.

These blooms rose from the mundane bulb and are nurtured by the wide generous leaves. They are part of a whole. Ordinary and necessary. Without the ordinary the extraordinary can’t exist.
Chop wood and carry water as the ancient proverb says. Great results come from tending to the ordinary moment.
These flowers are long gone and their legacy continues through me and through this painting. I’m inviting you in to experience these exquisite flowers. To feel the moment with me.
The extraordinary is often overlooked. We are busy. We think it’s nothing. But it’s really something. That moment that nature triggered a human reaction is a conversation with the divine. People go to great lengths to get in touch with their spirit when the divine is all around us. In common gardens with seemingly common nature. What could be special?
